What to do
Sit together and look at the picture. Let your child lead — follow what they notice first.
You say it first (Copy + Add)
- “I can see a frog on a leaf.”
- “It has big red eyes.”
- “The leaf looks wet and shiny.”
👉 Then, depending on the age of your child, add one or more words:
- “A bright green frog.”
- “Very big red eyes.”
- “A slippery, wet leaf.”

- “What can you see?”
- “Where is the frog sitting?”
- “What else can you spot in the rainforest?”
If no answer
That’s okay — keep modelling:
- “It’s a frog.”
- “It’s sitting on a leaf.”
- “I can see water and trees.”
