Week 22 – Picture of the Week

Grown-Up Guide: Let’s Talk!

What to do

You say it first (Copy + Add)

Sit together and look at the picture. Let your child lead — follow what they notice first.

“I can see rain.”
“There is a big puddle.”
“The umbrella is keeping people dry.”

👉 Then, depending on the age of your child, add one or more words:

“A large wet puddle.”
“A colourful umbrella.”
“A dark cloudy sky.”

💬 3 questions to build language

“What can you see?”
“What happens when it rains?”
“What would happen if you jumped in the puddle?”

If no answer

That’s okay — keep modelling:

“It is raining.”
“That is a puddle.”
“The ground looks wet.”
