About

Early Edge Learning is your minimal-effort, one-stop shop for school-readiness and pre-Reception support. Created by a qualified primary school teacher, our mission is simple: help families build the words, confidence, and learning habits children need before they start Reception, without it depending on how much money a family has.

Our educational worksheets and preschool education resources are designed to be interactive, engaging, and practical. They’ve been shaped through consultation with Early Years practitioners, so activities reflect real nursery and Reception expectations — but are easy to use at home, even on busy days.

This matters more than ever. In January 2026, new UK government guidance on under-five screen use was announced amid concerns about the impact of passive screen time on language development. At the same time, a Kindred Squared survey reported that staff estimated 37% of children were not school-ready, up from 33% in 2024. These reminders are exactly why parents need clear, practical support in the early years.

Early Edge Learning gives you simple routines and resources that fit into everyday life — helping your child feel ready, confident, and curious from day one.

Why are we different?

Early Edge Learning is built on real life. Wherever possible, we use real photographs (not cartoons) so children can recognise what they see in the world around them and parents can use the same words and ideas in everyday routines. The activities are simple, free or low-cost, and tried and tested by fellow educators and real parents — no “perfect setup” needed. This approach comes from my experience as a parent of two, an aunt to fourteen, and a qualified primary school teacher. I also know families don’t always have the time, money, or printer ink to print lots of worksheets, so most resources come in two options: a mobile/tablet-friendly interactive version for on-the-go, and a print version if you prefer paper.
